Are Your Brochures, Websites, Press Releases, etc. Attracting Your Clients in Record Numbers?

Does your copy really speak to your specific target market? In an effort to try to serve everybody, coaches often miss a prime opportunity to grow their businesses at a faster rate. One of your first orders of business must be to find a niche to serve. You can’t serve everybody.

Pick a niche and become one with it. Learn how it's being served . . . and how it’s not being served.

Here's how:

Get Inside the Head of Your Target Market

To gain a deeper understanding of the audience you serve within that niche, go inside their world. Visit the blogs your audience visits, read the magazines they read, off line and on. Join the social groups they belong to online and off. You don’t have to use your real name (on line). Be a fly on the wall of the target segment you are trying to sell to. Not every client you’ve dealt with experiences all of the same things. So, this means, in order for you to gain a more well-rounded idea of you are dealing with, you need to go beyond the clients you have.

You will be in a better position to create the brochures, the headlines, the marketing message that you need to capture their attention. You will also be in a better position to gain their confidence and their trust in your ability to deal with their issues.

Know Your Competition, So You Can Find the Gap . . . Then Fill It

Develop a deeper understanding of how the coaches you compete with serve that same audience. Study the websites of your competition. Visit their social media profiles, their "answers" in the forums they visit, their blogs; download their newsletters, etc. Find the gap that your competition has left open, and fill it. Do for your target market what your competitors are not doing, offer what they don’t offer.

Narrow your audience; study that audience; study your competition and you increase your likelihood of attracting more clients than you've been attracting. And start with a headline that let’s your target market know, immediately, that YOU have what they need, YOU offer the very benefit they are looking for!
